Almost Fully Potty Trained

Bela is almost fully potty trained now. She always tells us when she needs to go to the bathroom to do #1. We only encountered a couple of accidents when we started to potty train her.

Then last month, we started to not let her wear her diapers during the night. We noticed that every time she needs to do #1 at night, she will ask me if she has a nappy and if she can make wee-wee there. So one day I told her that I won’t be putting on her nappy at night and she has to tell us if she wants to do # 1. And on the first night, it worked. She did # 1 before she went to sleep and we didn’t have any accidents since then.

Our only problem now is she still has to wear diapers every time she needs to do # 2. She doesn’t want to do it on her potty trainer and she prefers to do it standing up. Every time we asked her to sit down on her potty, she will tell us that it is too hard. But before she do # 2, she will ask us to put on her nappy as she needs to make pooh-pooh.

Oh well, I don’t want to pressure her. I know in time she will be fully potty trained. At least now I am already saving a lot because I only have to buy disposable diapers for her to do # 2.

First Time without a Nappy

Last Wednesday, Bela went back to school after their 1.5 week of semestral break. Since we no longer have a free weekend before her birthday, we decided to drop by at Robinson’s Place to buy Bela’s birthday outfit.

On our way there, she made poo-poo and so we decided to not let her wear her nappy after washing her up. I was a bit hesitant to that idea as I am afraid that we might make a mess while inside the mall but I said, what the heck, she will never learn if she doesn’t commit accidents.

We were inside the Guess shop and I was asking her to try on some clothes when she said:

“I’m making wee-wee mom!”

Good thing that the restroom is just beside the Guess store so we hurriedly run there and she did it. She was able to wait until she is seated on the toilet bowl before she did her thing. This is the first time that we went out and we did not let her wear her nappy.

Today, she went to school without her nappy again and we were surprised when she went out of their classroom with Yaya Yenyen. Yaya Yen Yen told us that Bela told them that she is making wee-wee so she accompanied Bela in the restroom and she is successful again.

So I think we are almost done with Potty Training No 1. Now it is time to work on Potty Training No 2.

Potty Training Attempt 1

Bela started her potty training 2 weeks ago. Actually, we didn’t want to push her as we tried before and she didn’t even want to sit on her potty sit. We would remove her nappy but she will not like it and will cru unless we put her nappy back. So base on advise give to me by other mommies (like Peachy, Joy and Jody), we just let Bela decide when she feels that she is already ready to be potty trained.

And so two Saturdays ago, we were just at home as Howell is working overtime. Bela asked me to remove her nappy. Maybe she is irritated already from wearing at all the time. SO while I was removing it, I told her to tell me if she wants to make wee-wee. And for the whole she just wore her underwear and will tell us if she wants to make wee-wee. She excitedly sit on her potty seat and I was really all smiles when she made her first successful attempt to pee on her potty.

There are still quiet a few accidents still and she hasn’t tried doing number 2 on her potty but at least we are getting some progress. Though we haven’t tried going out without her nappy yet. That would be our next project.
