Being a Working Mom

If I will have it my way and if we can really afford it, I would rather be a work-at-home-mom instead so I can be with my kids 24x7. But that is not possible as I have to help my husband earn a living for the future of our kids.

Being a working mom entails a lot of challenges as I have to juggle my time between my online and offline work and my responsibilities for my husband and my kids. But I am thankful because there are a lot of tools that I can use like salesforce reporting that will simplify my task so I can still have time for my husband and my kids.

I feel really flattered when a friend of mine asked how I do it. She can’t imagine having a full time job but still ending up to have plenty of time to be hands on mom to her kids. I guess it is just time management and my pure love for my family.

My Typical Saturday with Bela

I just love weekends as I get to spend time with my husband and my kids. Every Saturday is Bela’s day as I accompany her to her gymnastics class and then we go malling after with Cobi.

Since she is trying out Kumon Math for two weeks, we have to go to the Kumon Center near her school every Saturday after her gymnastics class (hubby should reward me with Asus Tablet PC so I have some toy to play with as I wait for two hours for her gymnastics class and another hour for Kumon. LOL).

This will be our routine at least for two weeks and after her trial session in Kumon, I will request her to be transferred to the Wednesday and Friday schedule so our Saturday afternoon will be free again for malling.

It will be a very busy Saturday for me this coming weekend, as I have a meeting with the PTA in the morning and then it is gymnastics time for Bela. Hubby will be working overtime and will cover an event in the afternoon so Bela and I might go on a girl bonding on Saturday.

Blogging for Bela

Bela has been so busy the past couple of months that I am so behind blogging all bout her activities. Thanks to the free notepad software that I installed, NotePad++, I was able to create a list of it so I won’t miss blogging any of her important activities.

I have actually started using VirtualDub to edit the videos that I took during Bela’s activities so I can easily embed it to my blog post. I have Open Office installed on my laptop also so I can compose blog post during our stop over so I have something to be busy with while waiting for more than 10 hours before we will arrive at our destination.

In less than two weeks, we will be leaving for our much awaited US trip. Bela is just so excited as this trip is actually for her as we will be going to places that she loves like Sea World, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Zoo and many more. I am sure after this trip, my list for things that I need to blog will be longer as for sure, I will have lots of story to share after this vacation.

And I am excited to say bye bye for the meantime to the software that I use for work like PuTTY and Pidgin as I am so looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.

Guilty

Last Monday was one of those days when I am not in the mood. In between my frustration because I still hasn’t loose weight (that I started to read about diet pill reviews) then hearing a bad news from my mom regarding one of the tenants for our apartment plus some family issues, I cracked down and loose my temper.

It was already 9:30 PM as we just finished the 8th month birthday celebration of Jacobo and I remembered that I still have to help Bela with her Kumon worksheets. Of course since it is late already and Bela is already tired and sleepy, she is also not that cooperative that I started to loose my patience and started shouting at her.

I felt guilty after as I realized that she is just a kid and she had a very long day already so I should not be pressuring her that much. So I just walked out and went to our room and just asked her aunt to do the worksheets with Bela.

Well I guess I am only human and there are really times when things like this will happen. But I have to find a way to make it up with Bela…..

Enough with Bags. It is Time for Gold

Bela, upon seeing my new bag:

Bela: “Is your bag new mom?”
Me: “Yes.”
Bela: “Why do you need lots of bags?”

I did not know how to answer her and I just laugh upon hearing her question. But at least she is aware that too much is not good and that we should learn how to save up for our future. That is why after hearing Bela question me about my bag addiction, it really made me think and so I started checking the site of United States Gold Bureau as I am now considering to buy gold bullion as an investment.

They say that designer bags are an investment too as I can sell it in the future if I want to but I know that its value is depreciated already. Unlike gold whose value will not depreciate over time and so it is really a good way to preserve one’s wealth.

I had enough bags already for 2010 and so it is time for me to start saving up and make some real investments for the future of our kids.

All Set for Tomorrow?

Am I ready for Bela’s party tomorrow? Well weight wise, I still did not accomplish my goal of losing weight before her party so I really had a hard time looking for a nice dress that will hide my bulges. I know I should just have use the best weight loss supplements. Maybe if I did, I will not have a hard time looking for a nice outfit to wear for tomorrow.

I also need to have a pedicure as I will be wearing sandals tomorrow. But I don’t know also if I will have time for that as I have to go to Bela’s school today for their Book Week program. Plus I still have a lot of pending work to finish and I have to pack and prepare the stuff that we will be bringing for tomorrow’s party.

Oh well, it is not my party and Bela is the star for tomorrow, not me. As long as Bela is all set up and everything is all set for the party, then there is nothing that I should worry about.
