Ocean Adventure Fun with the Santos

Last December, our good friends from Canada spent their holiday season here in the Philippines and we are happy that we were able to spend time with them even just for one day. We took them to Ocean Adventure in Subic as we know that their kids will love it there.

Ocean Adventure is one of Bela’s favorite place and she really enjoyed all the shows (even if she has seen it numerous times already), with Cobi, Alijah and Aaron. The highlight of our trip was the kids’ interaction with Tonka the whale, the dolphins and the Dakila, the Sea Lion. Here are some of the pictures:

Impromptu Playdate

Last May 26, we had a visit from my friends with their kids for an impromptu playdate. We have been talking about playdates and we have wanted to meet up as we have a lot of catching up to do but are schedules don’t meet.

The conversation started in Instagram when I posted a picture of our inflatable pool and then we are all free on Sunday afternoon and before we know it, we have a playdate.

Bela was so excited when I told her that friends will be visiting us for a playdate and she started planning what are the activities that they will do.

They first swam in our inflatable pool, thanks to our parker hose distributor, we were able to fill the pool with water in time, when all the kids arrived.

Then they watched movies, played game boards, bike, basketball and more. And while the kids are busy playing, the mommies were able to chat, had our manicure and pedicure and eat until we’re all so full.

It was a very fun day. Hope we can do this more often.

Satchel Bag from Sandy's Party

I have been looking for a small satchel bag for Bela but I can’t seem to find a smaller version that will fit her. Thanks to Joy and Sandy, I don’t have to buy one for Bela as we got it as our souvenir for Sandy’s party.

Bela loves using it every chance she got that is why I am researching about painting leather as I fear I may have to do this soon if Bela’s satchel bag will get worn out and dirty (which is really possible, specially since she carries this bag everywhere she goes).

MBAP Kids Play Date

Just before Good Friday, my MBAP friends and I had set up an impromptu visit to Jane’s house. Well aside from the aspen home furniture that we like to see and their state of the art home-entertainment system, the highlight of our visit was the play date of our kids. 

Jody, Joy, Peachy, Jacqui and my family arrived at Jane’s house between 2 to 3 PM and the kids immediately jumped into the pool as soon as we arrived. They really had a good time, as it has been ages since all of them where together to swim.

After swimming, we had a sumptuous meal and the kids continued playing in Sophia’s room. They even had a dancing gig and they were so good, they can be the next Jives. LOL.

Of course while the kids are having fun, the mommies are busy chatting. We talked about almost everything and my favorite was our talk about showbiz gossips. LOL.

My Flower Girl

I was looking for bridesmaid dresses to look for inspiration for the cocktail dress that I need for the wedding that we will be attending this January and I suddenly remembered that Bela will be one of the flower girls for that wedding.

I got really excited as Bela was just three years old, I think, when she last became a flower girl. Now she is more aware of what’s happening around her and she loves to dress up in gowns so I am sure she will be really excited to be a flower girl again. We are still waiting though for the schedule of her gown fitting and we can’t wait to see the final design of the gowns for the flower girls.

The groom was a good friend from college and he is the last single guy in our group so everybody is really excited for this wedding.

Job Search

One of Bela’s God mother (and my very good friend) now lives in the US with her husband and two children. Since she needs to take care of her two kids, she decided to be a stay at home mom. But because of the though times, she wanted to help her husband with their daily household expenses.

My friend is a very talented makeup artist and hair stylist when she was still here in Manila. And so I feel that she can use her talent to get a good job to earn good money to help her husband.

So I gave her the site of BeautyJobs. It is an online job search engine site where she can easily look for hair stylist jobs or jobs as makeup artists for free. She can simply do a search by zip code and the site will instantly connect her to all salons and spas that have a job position to fill. She can even create a resume from the site without a fuss.

I am sure this site will help my friend easily look for a job that will help her earn money for her family.

My Friend

Yesterday, I got a phone call from my good friend who is now living in Indiana. She made a long distance call so she can greet Bela a very happy birthday.

My friend moved to Indiana with her family a few years ago when her parents decided to migrate there. She was not really that thrilled when she learned that they will be moving since she already have a stable job here. But good thing she found her new passion. She decided to enroll in one of the beauty schools in indiana where she got good training in cosmetology. And after graduating, they even helped her got a job in one of the famous salons in Indiana. And now she is enjoying every bit of her new found career.

To my friend, I am glad things are really turning well for you and you’re family there. Thank you for remembering Bela’s birthday and hope to see you soon.
