Skylanders Fan

My Bela is already 8 years old but she is still into toys. Her current addiction: Skylanders.

Every time she gets a good grade from school, or last Christmas or her last birthday, she requested that we give her any of her favorite Skylanders characters. This toy is actually played with an Xbox or PSP as it interacts with the game but Bela is just interested to play with it as an action figure. LOL.

I was checking her stack of Skylanders last week and I was surprised because she has a lot already. This makes me think that we should get a durable trunk like those Military Footlocker to keep her collections.

For Her Birthday

Our daughter will be turning 7 years old in just 13 days and of course we want to give her something special for her special day. And while kids of her age would request for Barbie dolls, Lalaloopsy dolls, One Direction or Justin Bieber CDs and I even know some who would ask their moms to check 99perfume.com for bvlgari perfume, Bela would rather have this:
Meet Little Inu. She is an interactive dinosaur that eats, sleeps, and plays with her owner. She saw this in You Tube and got really excited, as she really loves animals. Her initial request for a birthday present was a pet dog chuaua so I am one happy mom when she chose this over a real dog (I know she can’t handle the responsibility of taking care of her own pet).

I already ordered it in Amazon last week and when I checked, it has already been shipped and is now in transit from Nevada. Hopefully we will receive it in time for her birthday.

Her Christmas Gift

I know, I know it is not a good idea but hubby and I finally gave in and grant Bela’s wish for Christmas:

At happy si Bela, may wifi kaya nakaka YouTube sya while waiting for Cobi's class to finish

She actually did not ask for it but we always see her seating beside a stranger in malls, restaurants or any other public places if she sees them holding an iPad. She is just so fascinated with the games and the movies and all the cool stuff that an iPad can do that she can’t help herself and she will really take a look at the screen of anyone holding an iPad even if we tell her that it is not a good thing to do, several times.

She has really been a good elder sister to Cobi and she has been doing really well with school and with her Kumon that hubby and I decided that it will be the best reward for her. Besides we really don’t have any idea on what other thing to give her for Christmas and so to end our problem, we just went ahead and got her an iPad.

I wonder if there are pre-order video games that will work on the iPad. I don’t have to worry on the videos, as hubby is already ready with his tons of Disney and Pixar movies that he can load on Bela’s iPad.

Bela was really ecstatic when she opened her gift last Christmas and she was very thankful to us. I know she will really enjoy her new toy.

Ate Bela & her Princess Bike

She is really a big girl now. Look and she can now ride a real bike with balancer.

She has been asking us to buy her a bigger bike because her former bike is already so small for her that it sometimes topples as she is already too heavy for it every time she makes a turn. She also saw one of our neighbors riding a bigger bike and so she told us that she is an ate now and so she need a much bigger bike.

We went to SM last Friday to meet up with my high school friends. It is almost closing time already but hubby and Bela still tried to check out the toy section and luckily they are still entertaining customers. And so when they met up with me at Starbucks, Bela is already riding this cute Princess bike.

Every afternoon she will go out and ride her bike together with our other neighbors. She is really an Ate already.

Ocean in my Pocket

Last Friday, I met up with my high school buddies for dinner and coffee at 6:30 PM. I decided to be there early so I can still do some errands before meeting up with them like look for eczema treatment and buy gifts for the Christening and two birthdays that we will be attending this weekend.

As I was going around the toy section to look for gifts, I found this:

This is a newly released toy which I think came from the same maker of Puppy in my Pocket, Kitten in my Pocket and Jungle in my Pocket. Honestly, I got really excited upon seeing it as I know Bela will go crazy collecting this new set of Ocean in my Pocket toys.

I bought one set and I gave it to Bela this morning and she quickly asked us to open it and she immediately played with it. Bela got tired of collecting the puppy, kitten and jungle in my pocket already as she have almost all the toys in the series so I am happy that they came up with a new series of toy to collection that I am sure Bela will love to collect.

Pipsqueak and Num-Num

Meet Pipsqueak and Num-Num, Bela’s new pet.

She was actually requesting for a real hamster. You know how much Bela loves pets so we are really thinking of getting her one. But while I was shopping for Christmas gifts at Toys R’ Us a few weeks ago, I saw this Go Go Pets toys which is one of TRU’s new product. SO I thought, maybe this will be a good substitute for a real hamster that Bela is requesting to have. We are really not good when it comes to taking care of pets (we used to have a Nemo fish but they all died already) so maybe this is the best option for Bela.

I bought one yellow hamster and the toy ball where the hamster can go inside and since the hamster is battery operated, it can roll the ball on its own. The hamster toy has a sensor which will make it turn around if it bumps on something and a special sensor that will make it move according to the accessories that it is using. For example, if the accessory is a hamster wheel, the sensor will make the hamster turn the wheel while it is running. Coolness.

Yesterday, we went to TRU again and I bought her the Hamster Fun house. There are still a lot of accessories that I need to collect (they have the sleeping module with surfboard, a hamster slide, a hamster mobile, a hamster bed, etc) but I told Bela she has to work hard in school first before she gets another one. LOL. But I am also thinking to give this to her on her birthday.

Check it out. I think it is exclusively distributed by TRU. I checked Amazon and the prices there are much more expensive (almost double) than the prices in TRU here in Manila.

A few of her favorite things

These are her current favorite at the moment.

She has a lot of animal toys – from the Puppy in my pocket to the jungle in my pocket, and even just the plastic animal toys that you can buy in SM. She always have a favorite for a particular time and this means that whoever is her favorite will be so lucky because she will take it with her every she goes.

But it also works for us as we really need a diversion for Bela every time we are dining out. We need to bring out any of her favorite toys so she can play while we feed her and we can eat too. This is the only way that we can think of to make her sit down otherwise we will be running around in the restaurant.

And did you know that she has names for each of her animals. And we should know the names by heart also as she always test us and ask for the name that she has given her animals, otherwise she won’t stop asking until we got the correct name.

Here are some of the names that she has given her animals:

Red – for her lady bug
Slow – for her snail
Bolt – her dog that looks like Bolt (from the movie bolt)
Octy – her Octopus
Blue – her blue bird
Racing Stripes – for her zebra
