My Rock Star Princess

Just look at my Rock Star princess Bela:

Thanks to my friend’s sister, Jonah for taking this picture. This picture was taken a few months ago when we attended the rock star party of Margaux. Bela enjoyed the party that is why we had a rock star theme for her 7th birthday too.

I too love the concept of a Rock Star party that is why I am so excited to plan for this party too. We had Jives, the popular sing and dance trio that we often see in parties, and they really rock the house down and they did not fail in encouraging the kids to go up on stage and dance with them.

We also had an illuminated dance floor which added fun to the party. Bela and her dad of course had a presentation again as what they always do every year.

If I will to do it again, I will still go for a Rock Star themed party for Bela's 7th birthday. The theme was really fun and very much appropriate for their age that is why everybody did had fun. And all those months of preparation and stress got all paid off when Bela said this while watching the on-site video at the end of the party: "Mom, Dad, I will never forget this day."

Bela's 7th

I still have to make a post for my supplier ratings for all my supplier for Bela’s 7th birthday party but I am up to the neck now with work so it might take a while before I got it done.

But all in all, I am happy with how the party has turn out. It is not perfect, there are some glitches here and there like we have to find fitted tablecloths last minute, hubby has to finish the gallery up to the last few seconds before the party starts, the table numbering was not followed when they set up the tables, the claiming of prizes was a bit of a chaos too, but all of that is nothing as we saw how happy the birthday celebrant is.

It was stressful preparing for a big party like this, but if you will ask me, I would do it all over again if I have too as my prize for doing this are the kisses, hugs and the numerous thank you that I got from my dear princess because of how happy she was with her party.

Souvenir Options: Bela's 7th Birthday Party

One of the things that I am having difficulty with for the preparation of Bela’s 7th party, is finding the souvenir that we will give to our guests.

I actually like the flip top jewelry box that I saw from Wooden Kiddie Stools and I am sure they can customize it for my theme and this will be perfect for the girls who will attend the party. I will just buy cheap bracelets and jewelries from Divi to put inside the jewelry box to complete the ensemble.

However, I still need to find for a souvenir for the boys and I am running out of ideas already. Thankfully I discover the site of Personal Creations and saw their personalize an Avengers gift which gave me the idea for the souvenir that I can give to the boys.

Just look at some of the items that I am considering:

Now all I have to do is choose among these options so I can submit my orders soon and that would be one item ticked off my list (and I am sure doing this will lessens the stress that I am getting in planning for this party. LOL).

7th: Party Preparations

If only I have access to web conferencing solution, then I might be online most of the time to discuss my party plans for Bela’s 7th birthday with my ever reliable party planner, Angelette and her team.

Angelette was teasing me as I have been bugging her since December for the party preparations for Bela’s birthday. She said that I am way too much excited to book for the suppliers when I still have 11 months to go before the party.

Well, the reason why I am planning in advance is I have to plan very well so I have at least a year to save for the budget that we will need for the party. We can't pay for the party in spot cash you know, so it will take more than a year for us to pool the funds for this party.

In my family, 1st and 7th birthday is a big celebration as it is a way of thanksgiving for the 7 years of our child’s life that is why I wanted to plan ahead so I won’t miss on anything.

So far, I have booked the following already though Angelette:

1. Magician
2. Sing and Dance Trio
3. Balloon Artist
4. Host

My friend already pencil booked us on our venue of choice and she will settle the payment this February as the venue is not accepting payments yet for 2012 events.

I am so excited for this party as Bela is so much involved now with the planning so I can’t wait to see how our party planning collaboration will turn out.

The Creamery: Booked

Finally after weeks of thinking it over, we were able to finally decide on where to celebrate Bela’s 5th birthday.

We actually did not plan for Bela to have a party on her 5th birthday but she kept on telling us that she already told her classmates that she will be having a Princess Tea party on her birthday. LOL. And the grand parents and the aunties are all getting mad at me for not planning a party for Bela because they know that she has been very sensitive and very jealous lately because she is still adjusting to the coming of her baby brother.

And so I gave in and started planning for Bela’s party. I only like to have the party at Shakey’s because I am working on a limited budget but Howell asked me to look for another venue where it will be suitable to have a Princess themed party. I have searched everywhere but I can’t find a nice place that will go with our theme and that will fit our budget. Thanks to my sister who suggested, The Creamery, a restaurant and ice cream bar located at Kids Universe in SM Mall of Asia.

I inquired last week and checked out the place with my sister. I find the place small for our number of guest and the price expensive but Howell is really not into celebrating the party at Shakey’s so I have him checked out the place last Saturday. He loves it and he promised that he will give me additional budget so we can afford to have the party at the Creamery.

We paid the reservations last Saturday so the venue for Bela’s 5th birthday party is finally booked. This will be a small party only with Bela's classmates and close friends and relatives as her guest but I am sure Bela will still have the grandest time of her life.

Bela's 5th Birthday Party

I was reading about colon cleanse reviews when I realized that tomorrow is June already and I still haven’t thought of Bela’s fifth birthday. Actually, I am still not sure if we will throw a party for her or not but Bela has been talking about her plans already for her fifth birthday party. She said that she wants to have a Tea Party with the Princess theme. LOL. I don’t know where she got that and why all of a sudden, she suddenly like the Disney Princesses. But she said that she wants to wear a princess gown and drink tea with her friends whom she will invite and will be wearing princess gown also.

We haven’t had our orientation yet with St. Scholastica so I am not sure if they allow parties in school. If they do, I might just bring food and loot bags for Bela’s classmates and just have a cake blowing ceremony. If not, maybe we can consider Shakey’s for a small party.

We’ll see. My mom was teasing me that I already forgot about Bela’s party because I am so busy thinking about our baby boy’s christening and party. LOL. So I have to make it up with Bela.

Bela, our Party Goer

Bela is a real party goer now. She likes attending parties and she really makes sure that she participated in all the games and other activities. Just like when we attended the party of Daniel Theo (the first born of my good friend Thet and Dexter) last March 6, 2010. She tried the face painting, joined all the games, watched and enjoyed the magic and puppet show and she even volunteered when the magician needs an assistant with his parrot show.

HHL_4082HHL_4153HHL_4064HHL_4468HHL_3995
My friends are saying that she is one confident little girl. I hope she will stay like this up to when she is grown up already (and even if she will have hormonal acne like me. LOL. But I need not worry about this as there are lots of acne products available as I read from hormonalacne.org website).

But I guess we just have to support her in everything that she wants to do and fulfill in her life. Like now, she wants to try swimming and drum lessons and we enrolled her to these lessons this summer. She even wants ballet lessons but we will just enroll her come June for their once a week class.

Hopefully with our guidance and support, she will grow up to be a very confident and smart lady.

Bela @ 4: MSS

Just like last year, I initially planned a simple party for Bela at school. But when I inquired at the office, I was informed by the secretary that they do allow parties in school and I can even hire a magician if I want since they can give me at least 2 hours of the class schedule for the party. And since this will be Bela’s last birthday at MSS since she is moving to big school next year, I decided to hire a magician instead of just having a Jollibee party.

Howell just covered a birthday party and the magician is Pocholo and he highly recommends him. Even the mother of the celebrant, Sheryll, and my co-MBAP Jacqui who attended the party recommends Pocholo also. I inquired with Jacque but unfortunately Pocholo is no longer available on the 16th of November. So I contacted Angelette of Jelly Bellies and she recommends Wacky.

A few weeks before the party, I read from Bela’s journal that their Family day has been moved to November 14. It was supposed to be held last October but was cancelled because of Typhoon Ondoy. Since they have an activity on a Saturday, they will not have a class on the 16th which is supposed to be Bela’s party at school. Good thing I was able to read her journal and learned of the cancellation so I was able to inform Jelly Bellies and I am lucky since Wacky is still available on the 17th.

I ordered food from Jollibee a week before the party and I also hired a mascot. I also got the kiddie couches, cake and cookie lollies from Jelly Bellies. I ordered Mylar balloons online and decided that we will just inflate the balloons ourselves but when my orders arrived, instead of 30 balloons (15 balloons for her Jollibee party and 15 balloons for school), I only received 4 because it is already out of stock. Thanks to Apple of Yanple because she still accepted my order of personalized balloons and balloon burst even if it is just a week notice. I love the personalized balloons and it is a perfect choice since there is no available Little Einsteins Mylar also. Howell did a layout with a picture of Bela and the Little Einstein kids.
HHL_9999_77HHL_9999_313HHL_9999_755HHL_9999_144HHL_9999_672
We arrived early in school on the day of the party and we were able to arrange the auditorium in preparation for the party. Howell put up the tarp while I arranged the prizes and the cake.

The kids got really excited when they saw the balloons and the caked decorating the auditorium. Bela was so happy and excited too as she knows that it is her party. Wacky started the show and he was a sure hit to the kids. He hosted the games, did balloon twisting, a puppet show and magic show. He even did a balloon sculptor for all the kids so they all went home with a balloon. I also bought a lot of prizes so each kid brought home bags and bags of loots so they were all very happy.

The Jollibee food arrived late but at least Wacky was able to entertain the kids while waiting for the food and Bela and her dad performed for Bela’s classmates and teachers too. After eating time, Jollibee performed a dance number then it is time for the blowing of the candle and the opening of the gifts.

Bela was so ecstatic after the party and the time that I spent preparing for this party was all worth it after seeing the smile on my little girl's face. After the party we went to Café Monaco (our favorite restaurant in Banawe for lunch).

Bela@ 4: Hospicio de San Jose

After Bela’s Jollibee party last November 14, we also had our traditional party at Hospicio de San Jose. It has been our yearly tradition already and this is our Thanksgiving party for all the blessings that we have been receiving and for Bela’s good health.

Thank goodness for under eye cream, because I have been sleeping late days before Bela’s party because I have been cramming for the preparations for Bela’s party at Hospicio and her party at school. But since Ms. Amie, Hospicio’s coordinator, knows me already I was still able to get a slot for our November 15 party.

After I reserved the date at Hospicio, I contacted Jollibee Mendiola where I always order the food for the party. Jollibee no longer accepts outside party but since I am a regular customer, I was able to make them say yes to accept my outside party booking.
HHL_9878HHL_9999_4HHL_9957HHL_9866HHL_9878

The party is at 3 PM. We arrived there a little after 3 PM and Jollibee staff are there already preparing the venue and the food. While the Jollibee staff is busy preparing the food, Bela entertained the kids first and she and her dad did a song number for the kids entitled “I won’t last a day without you.”

The party host from Mendiola was really good and the kids, including Bela, had fun with the party games. After the games, food was served and Jollibee had a dance number also to the delight of the kids. Then we had the candle blowing and the party ended with the kids from Hospicio singing their thank you song for us.

It was really a very memorable day for all of us. You can view more pictures here.

Bela @ 4: Jollibee Party

We had a blast last November 14 as we celebrated Bela’s fourth birthday party with family and friends at Jollibee in Blue Wave Macapagal.

We attended Djuan’s second birthday party and they hired all the Jollitown mascots to be present in the party and we really had fun specially Bela. So I decided that for Bela’s fourth birthday, we will have the same thing.

Hubby and I will be leaving for a three-week vacation by August so I said that I will start booking for a party venue when we return from our vacation but I was really surprised when I called Jollibee branches that have big party venue because the date that I want is already booked. It was only July that time and Bela’s birthday is still four months away so I did not really expect Jollibee to be booked that early. So a week before we left we dropped by at Jollibee Blue Wave (it is the nearest Jollibee branch that have a party area that can accommodate my number of guests) and booked a party for November 14 from 3-6 PM.

When I returned from our vacation, I contacted Angelette of Jelly Bellies for my other party requirements. I booked the cake, the balloon artist and the kiddie couch souvenir from Jelly Bellies. I love Angelette and her team because they are so organized and they are so easy to talk to and very helpful. I also booked a face painter from Arts and Faces. Ms. Liby is also very easy to talk to and the artist that she send for the party was really good. It is also not just an ordinary face painting as they also include glitters. I highly recommend them and I will definitely book them for my next parties. Their prices is so affordable too. I bought some Little Einstein items from the Toy Hunt and I also bought loots from Divisoria for the game prizes.

HHL_9114HHL_9189HHL_9131HHL_8545HHL_8152

What I like about Jollibee party is that it is a sure hit to the kids because the kids (and even the parents. LOL) went crazy when all the five mascots arrived. What I don’t like about Jollibee party is that the party games are so generic. I requested for them to add more party games since I already booked for a 1 hr extension and I told them that I have lots of prizes to give away but still they only have the same routinary games that I ended up bringing a lot of party prizes home. Another thing that I don’t like about Jollibee is that they have a lot of restrictions. They don’t have a very reliable party host but they will not allow us to bring our own host or magician.

Oh well, Howell said that it is okay because everybody had fun so I should not mind the other details. LOL.

Oh, I also booked a balloon burst from PIA ZANTUA (0939-202-6514). I just got their number from Sulit.com and they promised that they will just deliver it at the venue on the party date. The party is already starting and still no balloon burst. I called Pia and she told me that the delivery boy is on its way. The party finished and still no balloon burst. When I checked my cell phone, this is her message “Pinuntaha daw po kayo madam wala daw po don. Anyway, tnx po.” We left the party venue around 6:30 PM and it is really impossible that the delivery boy will not see us because we occupied the two big rooms at the second floor. Anyway, at least I did not pay any down payment. So if you plan on ordering balloon decorations from them think twice and make sure that they can really deliver.

Bela @ 4

Two days before we leave for Singapore, Howell was finally able to finish Bela’s invitation for her birthday party. And the day before we left, hubby was able to send it to the photo center to have it printed. I wanted to have it printed before we leave since we will be back a week before her party already so we might not have time to distribute the invites. Also, since it is a long weekend and All Soul’s day, most of our relatives might be coming to my lola’s house so my mom can give out the invites.

So this is the invites that Howell was able to finish in just two days:

I was surprised that he was even able to make four different layouts. He used our pictures during our Europe trip for the background since Little Einsteins also went to Europe for an adventure. The pictures of Bela were taken during her Halloween Party at her school taken by her dad.

Hopefully, we will still have time when we arrive to give out the invites before her party.

Loots for Bela's 4th Bday Party

I have been doing some shopping lately to prepare for Bela’s party. You see, I have to do it in batches as I can’t afford to buy one big bulk in one shopping.

Here are the loots that I bought for the games prizes both for Bela’s party at school and our party for our close friends and relatives at Jollibee in Blue Wave Macapagal.

1. The wooden pencils I bougth when we went to Dapitan Arcade but I saw these items also in Divisoria and they are even cheaper there (like P7 cheaper than the price that I got in Dapitan arcade).
2. The Disney giant pens, erasers, stickers and small body bag are all from Divisoria mall. My friend asked me to accompany her to buy toys too for the party of her daughter and so I was able to do some shopping of my own. The items are really cheap and the price range is only from P7- P15.
3. Cars and strawberry shortcake LCD watch from my online shopping.
4. Little Einsteins items like party hats, yoyos, blowers, coloring books with crayons, kaleidoscopes, and stickers all from online shopping also.
5. Little Einsteins CDs bought on sale at SM.
6. Play Doh from Toys R’ Us.

And since I can’t find any Little Einsteins balloons, I just bougth this Mickey Mouse rocket balloon from the site that my kumareng Peachy referred to me. I was able to talk to a balloon seller in Divisoria and they will arrange the balloons at the venue with Balloon Burst for only P1200.

Her Birthday Party Outfit

I am so excited when I opened my email this morning as I saw an email from Prim of Baby Fashionista. I asked her to make a sketch of the ballerina costume that Bela will be wearing for her Little Einsteins themed party. Bela said that she wants to be June, the ballerina, on her party so I immediately thought of asking Prim to design a Ballerina costume for her.

Look at what Prim was able to came up with:

I like the second design as it is so girlie. I asked Prim to color combine it with darker shade of pink for highlights. I am so excited to see the finish product of Prim’s creations. Now my problem is the ballet shoes that should go with this beautiful creation of Prim. Bela has a ballet shoes already which she used when she was having her Ballet Class. She was only able to use it for like 2 months but it looks so old now. If only I have use disposable shoe covers, I might have been able to preserve it and I don’t have to worry now in looking for a shoe that she can wear for the party.

By the way, in order to maximize this dress, I am thinking of having Bela wear it for her Halloween party at school too. Hope her teacher will let us choose the costume that they can wear for the party so at least, Bela can wear this beautiful dress twice.

By the way this is the lion costume that Prim made for Bela last year.

Isn’t it so cute? I asked her to do a sexy costume for Bela because all the costumes I saw are so boyish and Prim was able to execute all my request. I received a lot of compliments at how cute Bela’s costume is and they really got curious as to where I had the costume made. So I am really excited now and I can’t wait to see the final product of her ballerina costume.

Baby Talk

Our little Bela will be turning four this coming November and we decided that it is really time for her to become an elder sister that is why we can’t wait to give out baby invitation as hubby and I decided that we should try to get pregnant again before the year ends.

I know hubby wanted to give out baby shower invitations for a long time now. I saw him checking out the site http://www.birth-cards.com for baby shower invitation. This is where we ordered our invites when we organized a baby shower for Bela. He loves the service of Birth-Cards because they even customized an invitation for us with my pictures while I was still pregnant.

We are really praying that we can give Bela a sibling because we know that she can’t wait too to be an elder sister.

Waiting for the Good News

Bela was born with a congenital heart disease that left a fear in my heart which is the reason why I have been delaying our plans for a second baby. But as years went by, I realized that God will never forsake us and so now I am already ready to look for Baby Shower Invitation at http://www.cards-411.com/ as I am ready for our baby # 2.

We are really hoping that we will soon be ordering invitations baby shower from Cards-411 to welcome our second baby. I love the service of Cards-411 as they can even make customize printable baby shower invitations. They can even print and ship it as soon as designs are approved. I am really hoping that in just a few days, we will receive the good news.

Do check out their site if you are also looking for invitations as they also offer free baby shower invitations.

Magician: Booked

I talked to the Administration office a few months back to inquire for parties being held in school and I was informed that they do allow consuming the 3 hours of class time for the party. I asked my mom to talked to Bela’s teacher and ask her permission if we can celebrate Bela’s birthday in school. The teacher said it is still too early to predict their schedule as they haven’t done their lesson plan yet for the month of August but because of my “pangungulit”, Teacher Sarah gave me her approval already. But she gave us 2 hours only and we can just extend after class and we just have to inform the parents that their kids will go home an hour late that day.

So I informed Angelette of Jelly Bellies right away and today I got a text message from her informing me that she already booked Wacky as my magician for Bela’s school party. I haven’t seen Wacky performed actually and most of my friends haven’t seen him perform too but according to Peachy, I should just trust Angelette’s suggestion as if it is recommended by Angelette, then he must be good. And besides his audience will just be 15 kids so I shouldn’t really be making a big fuss about it.

As I am typing this post, I already received the contract from Angelette and I will make the deposit tomorrow for the down payment. (I love her talaga. She is so efficient.) So I am really in party planning mode now!!

Birthday Preparations for Bela's Tito Jego

Since it will be my cousin’s birthday this coming October 31, I and my sister thought of having a party but instead of an ordinary children’s party, we have decided to switch on a Halloween party since by that time, many people are celebrating the Halloween. So I immediately checked on some Photo Halloween Invitations that we can use for the party.

My sister checked on http://www.holiday-invitations.com/ for Photo Halloween Invitation because we thought that this would be great for we can put my cousin’s photo on their design which they will create as a special design. As of now, she’s still undecided for the design of the Photo Invitations Halloween and even the celebrant can’t decide for a specific design.

I just hope that we can soon finalize our Halloween Party Invitations so that we can finalize our order with Holiday-Invitations.

Halloween Party Planning

I was looking at Bela’s pictures during Halloween last year and I can really see how she had so much fun. That is why I am looking at the site http://www.invitations-shoppe.com/ for Invitations Halloween Party as I am thinking of organizing a small party at our house. It will just be a simple party where Bela can invite her classmates. Of course I will still give out Halloween invites so the parents’ of her classmates will be informed.

I will specify in the kids Halloween invitation to wear their costume so the kids can really feel the spirit of Halloween. Good thing Invitations-Shoppe can customize the party invitations Halloween based on my specifications and they even promise to send it to me for proofreading within one hour after I place my order.

I am sure Bela and her classmates will have a blast in this party so I am really excited.
