TLG International Summer Quarter

The Philippine Summer quarter at the Little Gym is almost half way finish. They are now accepting registration for the International Summer Quarter which will run from June 1, 2008 to August 23, 2008. If you wish to get discounts, register early as they are giving 15% discounts for tuition and membership fees if you register and pay before May 4, 2008.

We will not be enrolling Bela for the summer quarter as she we will be enrolling her for the regular school year at Toddlers Unlimited. Bela stayed at Little Gym for three quarters and I can say that she really learned a lot from the Little Gym. She is more confident and friendlier after attending classes here. And since the program incorporates developmental gymnastics, she has grown to be a really strong and tough kid.

So if you’re thinking on whether to enroll your kid for a class at Little Gym, don’t think twice as it is really a good program.

You can contact the Little Gym at the following numbers:

Bela’s Last Show Day at the Little Gym

It was Bela’s show day at the Little Gym last Sunday. This will be her last show day since we won’t be enrolling her for the next quarter since she will start her three times a week schedule at Toddlers Unlimited come June. So I was a bit sentimental and I was kind of sad watching Bela, Teacher Clara and her other classmates during the show day. We made a bond with the other parents at the gym and the thought of not being able to see them again, makes me feel kind of sad.

Ok, so enough of the senti part, and let me go back to my story about Bela’s show day.

She was still the active Bela that she is and she is in the mood again this time as she participated with all the activities again. And I was kind of surprised because she enjoyed the bars this time. She usually doesn’t want to hang on the bars but last Sunday she kept on hanging on to the bars with the other kids. And she was really strong as she was able to hang on her own for a couple of seconds. She even approached Teacher Clara when Teacher Clara was doing the wheel borrow with her other classmate so she can try the skill too with Teacher Clara.

Too bad her lola and tita we’re not able to come since they have some previous appointments. But lolo is with Bela to witness her last show day.

Below are Teacher Clara’s comments about Bela:

“Bela has become extra, extra active this semester. As soon as she enters the gym, she will approach teacher and give me a sweet smile. After that, she’s off to running all over the place. She will also do her tumbles once encouraged and she excels greatly in the bars because of her ability to reach for the bars by herself.”

I can say that Bela has improved a lot since we first started at Little Gym less than a year ago. She was the shy and quiet Bela at first, but look at her now, she is so active, friendly and confident. All of this we owe to Little Gym. Maybe we can try a new class next summer as we will always love Little Gym and if there is a new class that Bela will surely enjoy, we will not think twice in enrolling her again here.

Below are some pictures that Howell took during the show day.

On Her Own

Bela did the forward roll today all by herself.

Since it is almost the end of the quarter, Teacher Clara spent some time practicing the skills they learned with her Beasties. Since we’re beside Teacher Clara that time when she started doing the skill, Teacher Clara asked Bela to do the forward roll with her. And Bela quickly followed Teacher Clara. And since doing the forward roll on a flat surface is more difficult than doing it in an inclined surface, Teacher Clara said that we should asked our kids to positioned their hands as close as possible to their feet. And Bela did just that so Teacher Clara let Bela do the forward roll all by herself. And she was successful.

I was one proud mom. But the dad got really excited in watching Bela that he was not able to take a picture while Bela is doing it. Maybe next time.

Another Sunday

My mom decided not to go to Bulacan last Sunday so we we’re able to attend Bela's class at Little Gym. And I was glad with their decision since we just prefer to attend Bela’s class and just go home early after so we can still have the time to rest before another week starts.

I really love it every time we attend Bela’s class since Bela is really more comfortable now in the gym. And I can really say that she loves Teacher Clara better than Teacher PJ since she always approach Teacher Clara and always obeys what teacher Clara ask her to do. Like when Teacher Clara is doing a demo of the monkey jump, Bela approached Teacher Clara while raising her hands (signaling to Teacher Clara that she wants to do the trick with her). And Teacher Clara would give in to Bela’s request and will guide Bela on how to do the monkey jump. And that’s what I like with Teacher Clara. She really spend time to talk to her students and spend time with each one of them to get to know them better and at the same time making the students more comfortable with her also.

After having lunch at Conti’s in Connecticut, we went home to fetch my two cousins since we will be accompanying them to Eternal Gardens to visit their Nanay Vicky. It’s my Tita Vicky’s birthday last January 16 and her death anniversary also.

Bela had a great time playing in the grass with her helicopters. She even had fun calling the cat that was roaming around the area. We had a few bites of pizza and we went home around 5:30 since it’s beginning to get dark already.

Last Sunday at Little Gym

If you will notice, I haven’t posted pictures of Bela at Little Gym lately. Since Howell was not with us during class since December and I don’t know how to use my brother’s SLR camera, we don’t have any decent shots of Bela during class. It was only last week when Howell was able to go with us to the gym.

Bela have a new teacher this quarter. She is not actually new to Bela as she was Bela’s teacher when Bela is still attending the Birds class. I’m glad that they switched teacher for this quarter. Honestly, I liked Teacher Clara better than Teacher PJ as Teacher Clara is naturally “malambing” to all the kids. Even though it is just the second week of class, Bela is already comfortable with her. During the first day of class, Teacher Clara was able to ask Bela to hold on to the bar, which she never ever tried with Teacher PJ. Hopefully, Bela will enjoy the class more this time with Teacher Clara.

Below are some pictures that Howell and I took.
